IPv6 basics for ethernet and frame-relay
- Next hop of any dynamically learned router is link local address of the neighbor untill unless specified in incoming update.
- For frame-relay map statement link-local address is required.explicit mappings are required between the link-local and global IPv6 addresses also.
- Though IPv6 does not have any broadcast address so no need to have broadcast keyword in frame-relay map statement for gloable unicast ipv6 address.
- Frame-relay inverse ARP function is not there means IPv6 doesn't support any inverse ARP function.
- show IPv6 route legend L = Locally connected interface IPv6 address.
- For pinging to link-local and site-local addresses we need to define the outgoing interface। because as per the IPv6 address table given above link-local addresses may be duplicated in the same router by using same MAC-address. So to identify by which outgoing interface packets need to go out is not decidable.7 - Split horizon for IPv6 is enable by default.
- Poison reverse is off by default.
- I didn't see any passive interface option in RIP.
Thanks
